We made it. We finally found a BEAUTIFUL day that Jason could even go skiing with us to replace our yucky day that was too windy so the ski resort ended up not opening. Thanks to Curt who got us tickets: Leda, Curt, Tanner, Jason, and I went up to Powder Mountain skiing. We are grateful for his generosity he works on the lights up at the resort and does electrical work when needed and he gets a season pass and then gets extra passes he shares. We were glad he shared with us. It had snowed the few days before we went and so Jason was in Powder heaven. I took Tanner so Jason, Curt, and Leda could hit the powder runs. Tanner did awesome and is a natural. We took the bungee to put at the tip of the skis, but it kept coming off the first run down so the second run I put it in my pocket and he did GREAT! He did a lot more falls at first as I had to keep telling him to turn from one side to the other side of the hill instead of get going too fast and falling. One run just before lunch I could not get his ski back on and I think it took like 15 minutes finally a ski patrol stopped and asked if I needed help and then it clicked on. Dang he should have came earlier then the ski would gave popped on. Isn't that how it always is though. Tanner and I were both frustrated at that point and headed off to lunch. I am not the most patient person and I did have to apologize to Tanner for being a mean Mom! Tanner was mad at me said it was my fault because I took him down too hard of a run. Tanner said he didn't want to ski anymore because he was falling a lot more then he usually has, but it was a good lesson to teach him. On the long lift ride I talked to him a little about life. When something gets hard you just give up, is that what we do? He said no. I told him life gets hard and we fall a lot and have a hard time getting up sometimes, but we just get up and go down that hill again and don't give up just because it gets a little tough. And we have those people helping us along the way too. After we were an hour late for meeting them for lunch we finally met up with the others and skied with them for the rest of the day of course with them detouring to the powder areas on some runs. Thanks again Uncle Curt, we love you!!
Brylee stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Bowen and Grandma Great was even in town. She had a fun time and didn't want to come home when we went to get her. Grandma has some fun blocks and she wouldn't let them ruin it because she had to show us her castle she created and it didn't matter that it was right in the middle of the floor and everyone had to walk around it all day.
Tanner and I were also lucky enough to do one last trip Night Skiing last Saturday, My camera was having issues, so when I get the pictures from Curt I will post them. Tanner didn't fall at all and he did so good with the poles and had good control. I had a fun date night with him.
