Friends and Pumpkins

The Hyers hosted a Pumpkin Carving Party!! Mandy and the kids, Nelsons Family, Matt Poll's Family, Us, and the Hyers of course. It was so fun to get together and we look forward to the get together for the adults next month at the Wallaces. The kids got along so well together and we missed Chris & Jer that ended up being sick. It is so good to have friends that can not see each other in a while and pick up right where they left off. We have gotten together here and there through the years, and I remember so many fun nights in college that we did FHE's and were silly and now doing it with the kids was a lot of fun, wow how we have all multiplied!!

Pumpkin Carving with the Rays

We started this tradition a few years ago and it has been a fun one for the kids and also the adults. The weather was perfect and it was a lot of fun. We cook out at the fire pit and carve pumpkins. Grandma and Grandpa judge the pumpkins and the kids get a bag full of prizes that are always well thought out for each child by Grandpa Ray. I had Brylee draw on her face on hers and I cut it out like she wanted it with hair and all, and Tanner besides helping get all the gook out he did his all on his own. It was a fun time and we will look forward to next year.

H is for Hayride

Brylee, Austin, Ty, Ridge, Tanner....................Me & my Best Friend Amy

I didn't know JJ Nursery did a free hayride and you also get a free pumpkin. They do a food drive so you have to just bring food to donate to the food drive. Thanks to Amy since I forgot my food, I was rushing as I went to check out an elliptical and in a hurry out of the house because the guy was leaving. I took Jason to look later and we ended up getting it! Yippee!! OK Back to the Hayride, they have the tractors pull a flatbed trailer with hay bails on it and they take you out to this big field of pumpkins, you choose your pumpkin and then get in line for the ride back. They had some fun boards (I don't know what they call them) that you can poke your heads through and the kids had to do that while we were waiting. We went with the Wards, Jason had to work since it was on a Saturday. We had already gotten our armful of pumpkins, but I couldn't resist the fun hayride and three more pumpkins to decorate my cute porch didn't hurt anything, plus that means more pumpkin seeds for me too!!

Armful of Pumpkins for $5

Last year we found this pumpkin patch and so we did it again this year too. We got an armful of pumpkins for $5, so Jason held them for maybe one second. We got 6 pumpkins, so really he held 5 in his arms because Brylee had the little one and they said it was ok she could have that one. It was a fun family night and I love to have pumpkins on the porch to decorate. My new thing this year is making roasted pumpkin seeds, so I did those with the ones we carved, and the few we have left I will cut open before we throw them out and roast them too, they are YUMMY!!

FRIGHTMARES @ Lagoon

We had to hit Lagoon a few more times and it is best to go during frightmares, they have some fun shows going on and it is not so hot. I was kind of worried about Bry getting scared, but she didn't and did very good. She did hold onto us tight a few times when the scary people were walking by, but we made sure she knew it was all made up. I thought it was pretty cute we were watching the one show and they were dancing around and she whispered in my ear "Mom, they are not dressed very modestly." I definitely had to agree with her and talked to her a little about dressing modestly, so it was a good learning moment.

F is for Fire Station

I am doing catch up, last month we went to the Riverdale Fire Station and the kids loved it. I had our neighborhood play group tag along this time too. I think they really enjoyed it and they all got some silly bands and a fire hat. We walked over to the park and let them play for a bit after as well and I think they liked that just as well.
