Fun-Filled Weekend

A weekend full of Coloring Eggs, Egg Hunts, & lots of fun with Family. We had our FHE on what the true meaning of Easter really is and reminded Tanner of that too, so I was glad when I asked him what Easter really is about and he did say Jesus Died. We celebrated with Dinner and an Easter Egg Hunt and fun Prizes from Grandma & Grandpa Ray on Saturday. We went to church on Sunday with the kids in their new clothes, then celebrated with Grandma & Grandpa Bowen and the whole Shurtleff Family (Grandma/pa Shurtleff there in spirit!) The new Airplane tder-todder was a hit that Mom and Dad got. Thanks to Grandparents that spoil the grandkids!!! Tanner is still praying for the Easter Bunny and Santa. He asked me the other day if he would be the Easter Bunny and Santa one day, I don't think he realized what he was saying, because he still believes. We hope you all had a nice Easter, it was a great day and full of love and fun!!

Got It!!

What a Smarty! Easter morning of course Brylee was up first, so we went out and before I knew it she was eying an egg that the Easter Bunny had put on the end table where the phone is suppose to go. And since she loves to get the phone and we realize it when she makes it ring or it is off the hook. I put her down to see what she would do and she accomplished her mission as you can see. Don't think about taking a cadbury egg away from her, she showed us Sunday that she knows how to throw a fit. She would not quit for about 10 minutes and giving her something else did not work. I finally had to put her in her crib and tell her when she calms down I will come and get her. I guess our kids are sure to have strong personalities with us as parents. The last few nights have been rough as no more bottle since the Easter Bunny brought two new sippy cups!!

Home Sweet Home

Ok finally a picture of our new house. We have been there a month and I love it. We have a lot to do still, but a little at a time it will get done, even if it does take two years to empty the last box. I hope not that long though. We want to have a yard sale so I got that goal in mind to get it done by. We have it livable and it feels like our home, so that is what counts. And decorating I don't even want to start, I have thrown things here and there, but that is not where they will stay. Anyone want to decorate for me? Jason did put a golf picture above our headboard and he knew it was short lived, because when I walked in the room I put the kabosh to that.
I planted two apple trees and one peach tree, thanks to Mom Bowen as a house warming gift. Jason didn't really want fruit trees, but to make me happy he was ok with it. What a good guy, like his brother said to him once, "Happy Wife, Happy Life!" Good advise I thought! hee hee!! I gotta get my apple trees going for my apple pie filling, who will carry on the family tradition from Grandma Shurtleff if I don't, since I am the one that usually brings the apple pies to the family parties.

Our new home

We have moved and we love our home, our first week at our new ward was on Sunday. Tanner was excited to meet his new friends, but when we asked if he met any new friends he said no he didn't meet any. I guess it is hard at church since they don't let you talk so much. He is always saying who can I play with mom who can I play with. We still have many boxes to open and I still have not found a few things, but I will eventually I am sure.
Tan the Man has found fun in building a hut with all the boxes we had. He found a box he liked and then had to find another to build the chimney. Then he could not figure out how to keep the door shut when he was inside, so we found a bungi to solve the problem.
Bry is quite the climer she loves to climb on whatever she can, but still refuses to walk on her own. She can make a mess. She has quite the strong personality, if you know how quick she came at birth, she is exactly that, when she wants something she wants it now, or you hear it. She is so much fun and we love the adventure she gives us.

The kids play together so well, and they just love each other. Bry sure lets us know when she is being kissed too much though.

January 2008

BRYLEE IS "ONE"
Brylee turned "One" They grow way too fast!! She is such a good happy baby and loves to get into everything and can make a mess faster then you know. We had a princess party, but it was in the middle of moving, but it was fun to have the last party at our house in Ogden and the kids went sledding in the back yard.
This was her princess cake I made

Brylee and Tanner Sledding in the Backyard at our old house in Ogden
That is what Tanner said he is going to miss the most is the sledding and slip & slide on the hill at our old house.

Our Trip to Grand Targhee
Our fun trip to Grand Targhee. Tanner is quite the skier, we called him the "snowplow man!" I was not used to skiing, let alone snowplowing for two day, so I was pretty sore. It was so much fun and Tanner had just as much fun swimming in the outdoor pool too.
