What would I want my kids to know?

I am thankful for a plan that our Heavenly Father has for us and the knowledge that after this life it is not the end. What would you live for if you didn't have something to believe in. Why keep the commandments and try to be a better person if after death you were just dead! I know that this is not the end and that we have a loving Heavenly Father that is always with us to love us and comfort us when we need Him. Life gets busy and things happen in life to give us a reality check and put us back into our place when we hear tragic things that happen, especially to people we know. A friend of mine called me today and said a friend from our old ward passed away yesterday. Her kids found her dead when they came home from school. Those kids will never forget what they walked into yesterday, but with the gospel they can also know and have peace that they will see her again. I am sad for the family, but know it happens daily to people and for those who don't have the gospel I am sad for, because it isn't the end. Then I got thinking we never know when it is our time. Did I tell my kids that I loved them when I dropped them off at daycare today, was I nice and loving to my husband when he left for work and did I tell him that I loved him? Yes I did today, and I am thankful for cell phones so I could call and tell my husband that I loved him again.
If I were to leave something to my kids, what would I want it to be?!?! I would want them to know:
I LOVE THEM more then anything!! I try to tell & show them every day. Even though I get upset and after them, I always talk to them and tell them that I love them even though they got in trouble doesn't mean I don't love them.
FAMILIES ARE FOREVER-We can be together again with the wonderful plan our Heavenly Father has for us. We just need to do our very best and try our hardest to do what is right.
THE GOSPEL IS TRUE-you can find peace if you hold onto and rely on your Heavenly Father even on the simple little things to keep you going you will make it. Four tough words, ENDURE TO THE END!!!

(This was our crazy rainy conference weekend up at Bear Lake-it was a lot of fun even though it was cold. Family Time-I am the happiest when my family is happy and we are spending time together out of the busy crazy things going on in the world!)

Happy Birthday Tanner

My baby boy is five, one more year until school thank goodness, not that he is not ready, because I think he is, but he misses the cut off by 12 days. I just don't think I am ready for him to grow up. He already surprises me so much by things he says and does, sometimes I think he thinks he is a teenager and man he sure can sass and backtalk like one as well. But it is his birthday and we will only talk about the good right. I know my child is not perfect, but man he is such a good kid. He is the best big brother in the world to his sister, she is one lucky girl to have him as a brother because he will always be their to protect her and take care of her. They are both at the same daycare now and they love it they have been their since the end of July and the teachers say Tanner still goes and checks on Brylee at least once a day. Tanner is a fun loving kid and is a Mommy's boy, I hope he stays that way. When Tanner has his mind set up it is set up and no stopping him in whatever he is determined to do. Like riding his bike, he wanted to take the training wheels off and he was ready and didn't want help and took off. He is a thinker, and sometimes you can just see in his face he is thinking deep. He got that from his Dad because I am not much of a deep thinker. Tanner is also a deep sleeper as well so he talks in his sleep and he does get that from me. One night I heard him crying and went in to check on him and he was sound asleep. I have heard him laugh in his sleep as well.

Well for Tanners Birthday we went with our good friends to Chuck E. Cheese's in Sandy, the Layton one opens tomorrow if it stays on schedule, missed it by a week, oh well. It was so much fun driving down with our good friends the Wards and the kids had a blast. Tanner got to see Chuck E and said after, "Mom I was only a little bit scared." I just had to put the picture of Brylee and Austins reactions to the scary mouse. What mean parents we are huh!! Because of my good friend Sarah's wedding on Tanners Birthday I went to the wedding, then we headed to Sandy for lunch then back up to Layton for the reception that night. We had a little family party the next day and I did my traditional birthday cake. He wanted a guitar since that is what he wanted for his birthday too. Too bad the guitar is late, I blamed it on UPS, you know if USPS would have delivered it, it would have been on time right!! ha ha. He had fun with his cousins at his party and we always love when family gets together. Thank you everyone for making his birthday special for him. I was making him clean up his room to get ready on Saturday morning and he said, "Mom I don't know why I have to clean my room, my cousins are just going to mess it up!" Then he had a few neighbor friends come over he started getting mad at them for getting the toys out because he didn't want to have to clean it up again, he decided to go play outside so they wouldn't mess up his room. He was right it was a disaster and only took a few minutes after his cousins came over and thinking about it, I think it still is, why clean it up when it is going to just get messed up again right!! What comes around goes around right, I am sure the same things happen when we go to family and they play. I do try to have him clean up when he goes to grandmas or somewhere, but sometimes ya just get in a rush. I remember when Tanner and Ridge were playing it was about a year or so ago and they were down stairs at our friends house and they were being so good and we were up stairs with the Brylee and Austin and able to talk as adults. Come to find out they were having a good time playing with all the games and christmas stuff and had taken them off the shelves and playng them all together and also playing like it was christmas too with her christmas decor. I think Amy said it took her two hours to go through the games and clean it up. I am sorry again about that Amy!! Well I will quit writting so much Jason says noone reads what I write anyway because I write too much.

Grandmas Testimony

OK-so my grandma, whom is my Dads Mom, has asked me before to type up some family history stuff for her and about a month ago she gave my dad a envelope with some stuff in it for me to type. Of course she is coming this weekend and I have procrastinated until right before she comes to type it up for her. Little did I know it was her funeral arrangements. I wasn't prepared, but honored to type the things I did for her-the obituary draft, life sketch, funeral arrangements, misc items, and her personal testimony. I guess to be able to live until you are old enough to experience life and be able to write and plan your own funeral is quite an honor. I don't think most are able to plan their own funeral, but then it got me thinking about my own funeral and that some people my age do actually have to think about this sort of thing. I have not been hit with the trial of bad health or an illness or something terminal that would make me want to plan my funeral arrangements, but really we need to be living our lives each day as if it were the last because we never really do know when it will be our last. If we are lucky we can live to be in our eighty's or ninety's and have a good long healthy life. I have been lucky to have a good relationship with my grandma because my Dad will go and pick up my Grandma for a weekend or so and we go over to spend time with her while she is in town. I have taken advangates of some of the times to take her home so I can have that one on one time with my grandma to visit because when we do get together the kids can get pretty wild and loud, so it is harder to visit one on one. We have stopped on our way too or from Bear Lake to see her and of course pick up a pizza at Fredrico's pizza too, all of our favorites huh Grandma & Dad! I love you grandma!! And it was so touching to me that she wants her testimony read at her funeral with her obituary.

I just hope that my life I can reflect a way that others may see the light of Christ through me. I am by no means perfect, but I know that because of what our Older Brother Jesus Christ did for us all we have to do is do our best every day, or those tough words endure to the end. I don't want to think of the end of my life, but it has helped me to realize I do need to do better because I have along way to go, so I better shape up. The gospel is true!! I plan on taking an updated picture of my kids and Grandma Great this weekend since the below one is a year old, I can't believe I went that long. Below is also a picture of my Grandma and her second husband when they got married in 1983. Grandpa Miner he was quite that guy, he let us work in his garage with his wood and tools, we always came home with a project we had been working on, I wasn't too creative, for me it was usually just a pencil holder or something like that. I am thankful for parents, and grandparents, family, and friends that are good examples to me that help me to be better and want to be a better person. I think we all get in a rut and have to dig ourselves out at times, and other times we need the help of others to get us through the storms in our life. And most of the time it is nothing serious, just need to get back to the basic normal things in life in our daily routine of reading the scriptures and prayer including family prayer, FHE, and remember the things that are really important in life that we so easily get out of. But as long as we keep getting up and trying again we are trying so that is all we can do. Like my mom used to always say when we would try to get out of going to school, she knew we were faking it, "Get up, Get to work, and you'll feel better!"

NOW DOES THAT LOOK LIKE TROUBLE-SO INNOCENT!!!

Our Brylee is quite the go getter, when she has her mind set to something that is what she wants and their is no stopping her. We did capture one on film after she dropped one of our glass plates and it of course shattered on the tile, yes she thought she was cute. She dumped a whole can of pop on the table and floor the other day. She likes to take scoops out of the dishwasher or washer detergent and dump on the floor, gosh if she only would put it in the right place it would sure help me out. Oh what she could have done if I didn't catch her with an open magic marker before she took action. That would not have been pretty! She is in to everything and she has helped us to realize we are done with two kids. You can definitely see the different personalities in each child and even at one year old her little personalities just shines. We do love our sweet Brylee, she is a tease and not the cuddler that Tanner was, so is always on the go. Tanner never cared for the toilet when he was little, and we did keep doors closed and so forth, but we are in trouble if Brylee gets her hands by the toilet whether it be her hands, a book, a toy, sippy cup, or her dolls head she loves to take things for dips in the toilet water. She just can't resist, so that is a number one when she is awake to make sure all rooms that have toilets access the doors remain closed. She is a tease, and especially with her brother and Dad. She loves to rough house and I don't think she realizes she is still little, because she does all she can to keep up with all her cousins that are at least two years older then her. She loves to play hide-n-seek and she is the best of all. Her favorite places to hide are under her crib or in our closet by Dads shirts. She wanted to play hide and seek when my parents were watching her one night, but they didn't know, and they noticed she didn't come back after running down the hall, so my Mom and Tanner went looking for her. They were calling her name and she still didn't come, my Mom said she just about started to worry when something told her to look in the shower. Sure enough there she was quite as can be standing there smiling when my Mom opened the shower door.

Lets go ride a Bike!!!

Tanner has been ready for quite a while, but just didn't have the courage to take the training wheels off his bike. My sister gave us a smaller girl bike that Jason fixed the tires and we took the training wheels off, so it was lower to the ground, and Tanner just took off. On Saturday, August 9th, 2008 was the big day, He didn't even need any help. He did so good just going around in a circle and then had a bit of a harder time going straight, but after a few falls and still falling on occasion when he starts to show off, he thinks he is a pro. Even when we tried to help him he would tell us to not help him that he could do it on his own and sure enough he did. Tanner calls his little girl bike his police bike, and noone has made fun that he is riding a girl bike yet. I hope he has the confidence to not care what other people think. He did say to his uncle Nelson last week, "I can ride a two wheeler bike, but its a girl bike." He will be on his bigger boy bike really soon I think. We were amazed at how fast he just took off. He always had such good balance even when he was 9 months old pushing around the play shopping cart, he would take those corners at my moms house like it was nothing to him down the hall. Ok, so I had to find a few pictures of him cruzn' down the hall when he was a baby. WAY TO GO TANNER!!!

GetAway & Family Time

We had our six year anniversary last week, it was a lot of fun. We had my parents watch the kids over night and right after Jason got off work we too off for SLC. I know that isn't too far, but when you don't have kids to run after worry about it was far enough. I used to live in SL for a while when I was single and working in SL, and my favorite place was temple square so walking around brought back some good memories and we even saw a gal doing what I used to do. I found my favorite quite place and just sit and think and sometimes read. In fact I used to be the cool aunt and had my nieces sleep over and we would walk down to temple square and they thought it was pretty cool. We would always take their picture in front of the temple to help remind them that is where they want to get married. Well back to our fun weekend, we looked through the good ole happenings book and found a coupon to use at a nice restraunt that we thought we would try, Christophers Steak & Seafood. I had been their for lunch when I worked in SL before, but never for dinner. It was very nice, but all about the presentation and we were still hungry after eating, so we found another coupon and got a Ben & Jerry's Icecream that topped us off. We walked arount Temple Square and took a few pictures as you can see and then the next day went up to Park city and shopped and just had a nice day together roaming around here and there. When we picked the kids up they didn't even want to go home. In fact Tanner ended up sleeping over at his cousins and Brylee just ran away from us when we walked in, she is such a tease. I am such a lucky gal to have such a great guy to be married too. I know our marriage is not perfect, but it is pretty darn good. Jason is such a great father, Brylee has become quite the Daddy's Girl, and he is just a kid at heart when it comes to playing with the kids. He is the hardest worker and when given something to do you know it will be perfect and done at 110%. Thanks for all you do for me and our family Jason, I love you!!

Also we had a fun Family Night the other night, we went to Frosted Rock then went on a family bike ride. Tanner will soon be riding without training wheels as he did ask Jason to take them off the other night. We love doing things as a family even if it a short bike ride, going out for icecream or a shake, going camping together, playing a game, reading, or whatever it may be, because Family is Everything!!

Also is a picture of my first thing I made for the house I have been a slacker at putting things on the walls unless they already had a nail up, but now I am trying to get things up on the walls. I think it turned out good. I have had my ledges and above my cabinets done for a while, so I thought it were about time to get the rest done since my busy summer is about over.
